There will be a “Together with Refugees” event in Holywell Town centre on Saturday, April 2nd from 10.30 – 1pm. The majority of the public feel compassion for people who for a variety of reasons have been forced to leave their own country, and Holywell supporters of Flintshire City of Sanctuary have organised this event to give everyone a chance to “have a heart” for refugees – whether they come from Ukraine or other troubled parts of the world. “We are creating a big “orange heart” to hang on the Miracle Sculpture in the middle of town (orange being the colour of the banner of the “Refugee Nation” at the 2016 Olympic Games) and we will be handing out packets of sunflower seeds (with relevant message attached) as that is the national flower of Ukraine” said a spokesperson. “We are planning some musical entertainment at this event and if anyone would like to contribute in that way you would be most welcome ! in which case please get in touch as soon as possible”
Many thanks
